Shetland’s unique location means that most Shetland seine and trawl fishing vessels make short trips to sea, typically 1 – 5 days. This ensures that the fish is of exceptional quality and freshness. We also access quantities of hand line caught fish including cod, pollock and mackerel.
The most common species in Shetland’s mixed fishery includes haddock, cod, megrim, monkfish, coley, ling, whiting and plaice. Also available, in smaller quantities, are halibut, skate, catfish, pollock, hake, eels, john dory, lemon sole, squid, turbot, mackerel and witches. The Shetland fishing area is FAO Zone 27 iva, Northern North Sea. Full traceability is provided.
Each morning, we email our customers a detailed breakdown of species available for sale, broken down by grade and tonnage. To request a copy just email us and we will add you to the list.
We also produce a much-admired species document which is packed with facts and figures – just ask us for a large A3 or A4 copy for your office.
